The UK's Integrated Society

The Guardian made a good point about how the UK isn't actually an integrated society like MPs are always telling us by simply watching Big Brother and noticing that two separate groups have formed - white English and 'ethnics', who congregate in separate rooms and are continually bickering. Telling.

Terri Seymour

What the bloody hell is the world coming to when phlegmy-voiced Terri "everyone wants me to cough" Seymour, girlfriend of Simon Cowell, is NARRATING documentaries?!??

There's husky, there's croaky, there's phlegmy, then there's Terri...

If you want a really good webcam

What you do is buy a cheapish camcorder and a TV capture card for your PC and use that. It will be infinitely better than any domestic webcam, and will also have a zoom!

If we can dream it, then we can do it

Yes we can!

The soundtrack to the Horizon's ride at Epcot continues to blow my mind. I was a big fan of the Haunted Mansion, and prior to that, Phantom Manor.

I've never actually been to America, so great fan websites have allowed me to virtually ride these rides like the World Of Motion, Spaceship Earth and Horizons - only Spaceship Earth still remains! The score for that is really impressive too. World Of Motion is fun, but even in 1981 it must have sounded a little dated - it reminds me of a very 50s/60s style - maybe it was meant to sound like that? (same guys who worked on the Haunted Mansion worked on World Of Motion).

Horizons looks so 80s on the videos - but one of the messages on the ride said it's fun to look back at the future, which was why I think Horizons still stands up today (the ride concept, not the ride itself which was demolished in 1999).

It's all pretty mind-boggling stuff both creatively, technically and logistically. Amazing. It's a pity there isn't an Epcot ride retirement home where they get moved to instead of knocked down!

Hurray! It's Mr Mattress at the Portrack Lane Bed Centre in Stockton-on-Tees! Grateful thanks to the guys there who helped me with a bed leg.

Joel Ross - website publicity shot from when he was on Viking FM in Hull. His fop haircut was so weighty that it actually unbalanced his head, making him wander around with it at a 60 degree angle.

Goodbye Jazz FM

We knew ye for 15 years but you never made any profit so you're being re-branded "Smooth FM" or "Century 2" by John "Mornin' m'darlin's" Myers.

Extensive research has shown that a large percentage of Londoners like the music that is played on the station but two thirds are put off tuning in because of the name.

Well, it'll keep Emma Clarke and Mitch Johnson in jobs for the forseeable future.
